How African Buyers Can Source Home Appliances from China
For a useful quotation, send the supplier an exact model, target quantity and destination. The product price alone does not tell you what an import shipment will cost.
1. Define the appliance and its market
List the products you want to buy, the buyer or retail segment, and the voltage and plug used in your destination. If you are comparing solar fans, specify fan diameter, battery capacity, panel rating and the charging accessories. For kitchen appliances, specify capacity, motor power and bowl or jar material.
- Open the product page and record the exact model and capacity.
- Ask for current specification sheets, carton photos and sample terms.
- Confirm which accessories and spare parts are included.
2. Send the quantity and destination
Minimum order quantities can depend on the model, color, branding and packing. Quote requests should name a quantity for each product and a destination city such as Lagos or Accra. A mixed assortment may need different carton quantities and lead times.
- Request a final unit price and minimum order for each model.
- Ask for carton dimensions, unit and carton weights, and estimated production time.
- Clarify whether the quote includes any local destination delivery.
3. Confirm shipping terms before payment
Ask which shipping method is offered and what is included in the freight quote. Port charges, duties, taxes and local delivery depend on the destination and agreed terms; they should be confirmed separately.
